Salzgitter AG's Initiative Automotive will be presenting itself to the automotive world at both EuroCarBody in Bad Nauheim and at the International Suppliers Fair (IZB) in Wolfsburg from October 16th to 18th.
International Suppliers Fair (IZB)
In keeping with IZB 2018's guiding theme, "Think Digital", Salzgitter AG's Initiative Automotive will be presenting COMDaS, the free material database. This customer-oriented database provides comprehensive material characteristics and allows accurate assessments of the material's potential and predictions of the material or component behavior based on simulations.
Salzgitter Flachstahl will be presenting in Hall 7 Stand 7221 two body shell elements with a StronSal®MC coating, a zinc-magnesium overlay for thin sheet that meets the very high demands for automotive body shell elements while also guaranteeing reduced waviness for brilliant paintwork thanks to the added Pretex® focar®.
Salzgitter Hydroforming GmbH will additionally be using an exhibit to demonstrate the diverse application possibilities for hydroformed elements in vehicle construction. For examples, parts from the chassis, body and exhaust systems will be shown.
EuroCarBody
Salzgitter AG will also be showing the COMDaS material database at EuroCarBody in the framework of the exhibition accompanying the conference. EuroCarBody is the world's most important forum for experts to define and discuss the state of the art in modern series body construction. International elite automobile manufacturing engineers get together to assess the development, performance and production process of the bodies for the European market’s latest production models.
OEM engineers who are directly involved in development offer the expert audience detailed presentations on the production bodies for the current model year. Development, material and production concepts for the bodies are presented in detail and then assessed and awarded prizes by the audience.
