Initiative Automotive at the IZB

What began as an in-house trade fair at Volkswagen AG in 2011 with 128 exhibitors from six countries and 13,500 visitors has long since become Europe's leading trade fair for the international automotive supplier industry. This year, more than 800 exhibitors from 34 nations presented their products at the 10th International Suppliers Fair (IZB) in Wolfsburg from October 16 to 18. The Salzgitter AG Initiative Automobile shared a joint exhibition booth with the companies Salzgitter Flachstahl, Mannesmann Precision Tubes, Salzgitter Hydroforming, Salzgitter Automotive Engineering and Salzgitter Mannesmann Forschung.

The dominant element in the almost 50-square-meter display area in Hall 7 was a vehicle frame with elements from the group and a detailed explanation of each on a Plexiglas sheet.

Mannesmann Precision Tubes' main exhibit at the trade fair involved injection lines for gasoline and diesel motors, as well as airbag tubes. As a highlight, Salzgitter Flachstahl displayed the engine hood form the current Audi A4 in StronSal^® MC in Pretex^® focar^® and Salzgitter Hydroforming presented diverse hydroformed components for the chassis and powertrain.
