EcoVadis bestows bronze medal on Salzgitter AG

Participating in the EcoVadis sustainability rating for the first time, Salzgitter AG achieved a score of 55/100 and was awarded a bronze medal. With these results, the company has outperformed the industry average in all four assessment categories: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
 
Commenting on this positive result, CEO Gunnar Groebler views this achievement above all as a positive incentive for the future: "When addressing sustainability, it is important to document and evaluate measures transparently, both for our partners, customers and investors, but also for ourselves. Based on these ratings, we can now analyze where processes are already running very well and where they must be optimized and improved."
 
The participation of Salzgitter AG in the EcoVadis rating as a group is a first. The subsidiary KHS, had previously undergone the assessment process individually and achieved silver status several times since 2012. The Group-wide award underlines the particular relevance of sustainability across all business areas.
