ICAFT/SFU/ AutoMetForm 2018

At the Saxon Symposium for Forming Technology (SFU) on November 7th, 2018 in Chemnitz our Managing Director, Mr. Freytag, gave a lecture on the topic "Hot Metal Gas Forming of ferritic stainless steels" for exhaust applications. The forming process using gas as active medium offers great potential for gaining technical and economic advantages when using ferritic stainless steels. A sophisticated heating concept increases process stability even further.

Finally, Mr. Freytag gave a short overview of press hardening closed profiles for car body components. The process combines the high strength of conventional press hardening with the outstanding stiffness properties of hydroforming parts without the need for complex joining processes.
