Salzgitter at the Tube trade fair

Under the motto "Mannesmann – The Tube" the Salzgitter Group energy sector presented itself at Tube 2016 with a wide product range – from precision steel tube to large-diameter tube for energy pipe lines.
"Mannesmann has stood for the highest quality steel tubes and pipes for 130 years. We see this as a call for the further development of this business division," summarizes Salzgitter AG Director Corporate Communication, Bernhard Kleinermann.
The international Tube trade fair presented the entire range, from tube manufacturing to tube processing to tube machining and also the area of trading with steel tubes and pipes.

Topics of Salzgitter Mannesmann Precision

The demand for higher strength steels for tube products is steadily increasing under ecological and technological aspects. Salzgitter Mannesmann Precision (SMP) offers systematically developed production processes that allow further potential with regard to the use of high strength drawn welded and seamless precision steel tubes for lightweight automobile construction. The development is based on a comprehensive view of the processes - from manufacturing the hollow to production and inspection all the way through to the logistic distribution of the precision steel tubes. This leads to premium tube products specially optimized for the growing customer requirements, such as tubes for diesel injection systems (Photo 1), high-precision gear shafts (Photo 2), laboriously built-on camshafts (Photo 3) and plunger rod tubes (Photo 4), and added value products (Photo 5).

The materials development, both in the automotive sector and in the manufacture of seamless hydraulic cylinders, also plays a crucial role. In cylinder construction, safety-optimized, cold-drawn precision steel tubes ensure the necessary safety, whether for utilization in mobile cranes or construction machines, particularly when they are deployed in different climatic conditions (Photo 6). In the energy sector, drill rods are used for geological boreholes (Photo 7).
Seamless and welded precision steel tubes from SMP are finding use in applications in the automotive, industrial and energy sectors.
